Our Impact
FoodEco utilizes its funds to provide farmers with three primary resources.
-
Africa has a fertilizer problem. Alliance Bioversity says that “current soil degradation rates up to 100 times higher than the soil’s natural regeneration rate.” Ada Osakwe of Nuli Foods said that lack of fertilizer was the biggest obstacle to African farmers. FoodEco supplies farmers with eco-friendly fertilizer boosting crop yields and fighting soil degradation.
-
Farmers don’t just need physical resources. Sometimes, they need access to training on how best to utilize those resources. FoodEco works with farmers and donors to make sure they know how best to use those physical resources.
-
FoodEco helps its farmers build a sense of community by making it easier for them to share knowledge, support each other, and work together to build more efficient farms. Through community, farmers can turn hardships into shared opportunities. In doing so, they create a connected food ecosystem that benefits entire communities.
