Why partner with us?
We want to enhance Africa’s contribution to the global food ecosystem.
According to the World Economic Forum, “Africa has the potential to be a major player in global food networks and relieve a lot of stress on global food security.” Despite Africa’s significant arable land, it currently produces only 10% of the world's agricultural output.
Our goal at FoodEco is to play a part in enabling African farmers through strategic investments to become major food producers and exporters.
We want to encourage sustainable methods of farming.
One of Africa’s biggest challenges when it comes to food security is soil degradation. The World Economic Forum states, “Presently, African farmers use, on average, just 20 kilograms of fertilizer per hectare, a fraction of the global average. To maximize yields per acre, it is estimated that local farmers will need to increase their fertilizer application by around tenfold.” FoodEco’s Goal is to do exactly that.
We want to create a lasting, beneficial effect on the farmers and their communities.
Creating a lasting effect can be challenging for a smaller nonforprofit. At FoodEco however, we believe that we can achieve this by starting small, supporting individual farmers one at a time.
Starting small and concentrated can help us focus our efforts and ensure donations are impactful and benefit farmers and their communities for years to come.
Selection and impact criteria for farmers
-
We train and partner with farmers who are committed to maximizing resources and reporting on their impact, ensuring your donations create measurable growth and positive change.
To foster this trust, in collaboration with manufacturing offtakers, we provide simple, accessible tools for tracking results, and ensuring every contribution makes an impactful difference.
-
At FoodEco we understand the importance of our environment, and the delicate balance between current and future food needs which often leads to resource depletion, environmental degradation, and social inequality. Vulnerable populations bear the brunt of unsustainable practices, creating a continuous cycle of poverty.
This is why we encourage our farmers to embrace sustainable practices that nurture the land, ensuring healthy harvests for today and a thriving environment for tomorrow. This includes training in regenerative techniques and commitment to purchasing eco-friendly supplies.
-
We fight inequality by helping farmers increase harvests and drive greater economic growth within their communities. This means building direct connections to local markets, distribution networks, and export markets.
Access to export markets help communities achieve greater economic stability and knowledge sharing resources.
-
To ensure continuous improvement, we work with farmers to track their crop yields and fertilizer usage annually. The resulting data is utilized for learning and growth.
FoodEco was founded in 2025, so we have partnered with manufacturing companies who have been on the frontline of these efforts for over a decade, in order to ensure that we leverage their experience and data to effectively deploy FoodEco resources.
